University of Kansas Medical Center deans tour Garden City and Hays

As part of an ongoing commitment to improving health care throughout the state of Kansas, Dr. Robert Simari, KU School of Medicine dean, Dr. Sally Maliski, KU School of Nursing dean, and Dr. Abiodun Akinwuntan, dean of the KU School of Health Professions, toured academic and medical facilities in Garden City and Hays from June 30 to July 1 to better understand health care issues that face Kansans.

Rural Health Education and Services will present a Rural Health Care Marketing Workshop on August 2 and 3, 2016 in Wichita. The workshop is designed to give rural Kansas health care professionals tips on how to incorporate marketing strategies into their practices.

Cheryl Gibson, Ph.D., associate professor of general and geriatric medicine, received the 2016 Faculty Award for Scholarship in Community Engagement for leading the Community Health Project for 13 years, among many other research and service activities, particularly in Wyandotte County.
