Kansas Career Opportunities Career Fairs connect Kansas health care organizations with future providers

The University of Kansas Medical Center Rural Health Education and Services held the 22nd annual Kansas Career Opportunities (KCO) career fairs in Wichita and Kansas City last fall.

During KCO, health care employers from rural and urban underserved communities recruited for current and future positions. KCO gave resident physicians and medical and health care students the chance to learn about practicing in Kansas.

The Wichita KCO, held on September 27, 2016, had a total of 181 attendees and 30 exhibitors.  The Kansas City KCO, held on October 5, 2016, had 45 exhibitors and nearly 250 attendees. Students, followed by residents and fellows, were the most frequent visitors to booths.

KCO provided a great opportunity for health care organizations to connect with an extremely targeted group — current and future health care providers who are interested in finding a job in Kansas. Support for the 2016 KCO included Dodge City Medical Center, HaysMed, Salina Regional Health Center, Neosho Regional Medical Center, Vigilias Telehealth, American College of Physicians – Kansas Chapter, EagleMed, Great Bend Regional Hospital, Kansas Academy of Family Physicians, Kansas Hospital Association and the Kansas Medical Society.

Dates for KCO 2017 are currently being set. For more information on how to exhibit, contact Laurie or Allison at 316.293.2649 or email
