2017 Kansas Immunization Conference

The 2017 Kansas Immunization Conference will be held in Salina June 6-8. Between 300-350 health care professionals from Kansas usually attend the annual event. The theme for the 2017 conference is creating a unified message to increase vaccine acceptance.

Guest speakers for the keynote and plenary sessions include Erica DeWald, director of advocacy with Every Child By Two; Gary Marshall, M.D., chief, Division of Pediatric Infectious Disease at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and William Atkinson, M.D., MPH, associate director for immunization education with Immunization Action Coalition. A panel of vaccine preventable disease survivors will be held on June 8 and includes Kristen O’Meara, mother, teacher, writer and immunization advocate from Chicago; Kathleen Farrell, M.D., with Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City and Becky Prall, RN, with the Kansas Immunization Program. Breakout sessions will provide participants with the opportunity hear from colleagues throughout Kansas as well as updates from staff of the Kansas Immunization Program.
